PBS LAWYER GONE AFTER PROJECT VERITAS STING

In the footage released Tuesday by Project Veritas, a man recognized as principal counsel at PBS, Michael Beller, says that the children of anyone who backed President Donald Trump should be snatched up and put into “re-education camps,” according to Fox News.

“Even if Biden wins, we go for all the Republican voters, and Homeland Security will take their children away, and we’ll put [Trump supporters’ children] into re-education camps,” the man, indicated to be Beller by Project Veritas in the video, insists. The footage appears to have been taken ahead of the 2020 presidential election.

He adds that Trump’s fans are raising “horrible children” that will turn into “horrible people.”

“Kids who are growing up, knowing nothing but Trump, [Trump supporters] will be raising a generation of intolerant horrible people, horrible kids.”

The man in the video ridicules Americans as being “fucking dumb” before he applauded one of the most progressive and partisan Democrat cities in the country, Washington DC, which he says is inhabited by “educated” people.

“Americans are so fucking dumb. You know, most people are dumb,” the man asserts. “It’s good to live in a place [like D.C.] where people are educated and know stuff. Could you imagine if you lived in one of these other towns or states where everybody’s just stupid?”

The man goes on to say the outbreak of coronavirus in “red states” is “great” because it has the dual-benefit of discouraging Republicans from leaving their house to cast a vote while also infecting, and even killing, other Republicans.

“What’s great is that COVID is spiking in all the red states, right now,” he says. “So, that’s great, because either those people won’t come out to vote for Trump, you know the red states, or a lot of [Trump supporters] are sick and dying.”

He continues to categorize President Trump as being “close to Hitler.”

In the footage the man goes on to suggest that if Joe Biden lost the election leftists would “Go to the White House and throw Molotov cocktails,” which many people found particularly disturbing after the moral high ground on which some leftist outlets have placed themselves after a riot last week where conservative protestors invaded Capitol Hill.

According to the AP, Michael Beller, who works in the PBS general counsel office as a contracts lawyer, resigned on Tuesday after the Project Veritas video hit the internet.

“There is no place for hateful rhetoric at PBS, and this individual’s views in no way reflect our values or opinions,” PBS spokesman Jeremy Gaines said.

“This employee no longer works for PBS,” the PBS press room posted on Twitter, confirming Beller was gone from the company. “As a mid-level staff attorney, he did not speak on behalf of our organization, nor did he make any editorial decisions.”

Beller has yet to make a public comment on the matter.

PBS, a progressive-leaning media outlet, profits from having a 501(c)(3) charitable status with the IRS through their PBS Foundation, a national umbrella organization supporting their local subsidiaries. PBS’s classification as a charity provides them with exemptions from federal income taxes while permitting them to grant charitable receipts for donations from their supporters. They also take funding directly from the federal government, with their local affiliates benefiting from a number of funds from both state and local governments.

PBS brands itself as a nonpartisan and politically objective operation to its audience and donors.
